WAEC CBT practice
WAEC CBT practice means answering WAEC (WASSCE) objective questions on a screen, against a timer, the way a computer-based exam works. On DeeepSolve you can practise WAEC past questions by subject and year, sit timed CBT-style mocks on the web or in the Android app, and get step-by-step AI help when you're stuck.
What is WAEC CBT?
CBT stands for computer-based test: instead of shading answers on a paper sheet, you read each question on a computer and choose your answer on screen, with a timer counting down. WAEC (the West African Examinations Council) has started using CBT for some of its examinations.
The WASSCE itself has objective papers (multiple choice), theory papers and, in some subjects, practicals. How each paper is delivered can change between sittings and between school and private candidates, so check what applies to you on WAEC's website and with your school or exam centre. Whatever the format, the preparation is the same: know the syllabus, practise past questions, and get comfortable answering under time pressure.
How to practise for a WAEC CBT
Get used to reading on a screen
Reading a question, its diagram and four options on a screen feels different from paper. Practise on a phone or computer until it feels normal.
Work through objectives by subject and year
Pick one subject and one past year at a time. Check every answer and make sure you understand why the right option is right before you move on.
Practise against the clock
Sit timed mocks so pacing becomes automatic. If a question takes too long, skip it, finish the rest and come back.
Know the controls
Learn how to move between questions, change an answer and submit before the timer runs out, so nothing on exam day is new.
Keep practising theory on paper
Theory answers reward clear written working, definitions and diagrams. Write full answers to past theory questions, not just the objectives.
Practise WAEC past questions by subject
Each subject page shows which past years are available. Start with English Language and Mathematics, then your other subjects. See all subjects on the WAEC (WASSCE) hub.
WAEC CBT practice: frequently asked questions
- Does WAEC use CBT?
- WAEC has started using computer-based testing (CBT) for some of its examinations. Which papers are taken on computer, and for which candidates, can differ from one sitting to the next, so always follow the instructions WAEC publishes for your sitting (waecnigeria.org) and the guidance from your school or exam centre.
- Is DeeepSolve the same software WAEC uses?
- No. DeeepSolve is an independent study app and is not affiliated with WAEC. Its CBT mode is a practice environment: timed objective questions on a screen, so you get used to reading, answering and pacing on a computer or phone before exam day.
- Can I practise WAEC past questions for free?
- Yes. A free account gets 5 practice questions a day on the web, and the Android app is free to download. The full CBT simulator and unlimited practice come with paid plans, from ₦1,000 for 30 days.
- Can I practise WAEC questions without data?
- Yes, in the Android app: download question packs for your subjects on Wi-Fi, then practise without data. Your progress syncs when you're back online. The website needs an internet connection.
- Which WAEC subjects can I practise?
- WAEC (WASSCE) subjects on DeeepSolve include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Literature in English and more. Each subject page shows which past years are available.
- Does CBT practice help with WAEC theory papers?
- Only partly. CBT practice builds speed and accuracy on objective questions. For theory papers, write full answers on paper and show your working. DeeepSolve's AI can walk through the working for subjects like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry step by step; AI can make mistakes, so check important answers with your teacher or textbook.
